The World's Most Beautiful Gym
If you aren't the type of person to sit for long periods of time, this tour is for you. Upon disembarking in Ketchikan, step into our comfortable SUV Limousine, pour yourself a beverage, and enjoy the view as we journey to your destination. You've been admiring the rainforest from your cruise ship; now you will be leaning forward in anticipation of walking under its green, lush canopy. We have expert knowledge of trails for all levels of activity. If you don't feel you've really been hiking unless you climb something tall, we can take you there. If waterfalls are your thing, we can offer a trail that follows a thundering river with picturesque falls. Just talk to your driver — he can take your group to a place that will take your breath away.
A custom, private tour allows you to share your interests and wishes with your driver so the day becomes all yours. Does your family wish to hike, explore, beach comb, or experience a little of each? Your driver knows Ketchikan intimately, and will know exactly where to take you based on your interests. The luxury of the limousine makes getting there half the fun. Enjoy the sound system, plug in your iPod, or talk with your driver. At the end of the day, you'll feel you've not only seen Ketchikan — you've actively explored it.

Under the Rainforest CanopyIf you've hiked trails in the Lower 48, you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality and craftsmanship of Alaska's trails. Planked, solid bridges and boardwalks define the walkways, and steps hewn from solid logs are your treads up hills or rises. A well-maintained trail means hikers don't stray into the rainforest, so you will be trekking through a pristine and wild land. Saunter through incredible groves of giant Spruce on the well-manicured Ward Creek Trail. Pick berries and watch for wildlife as you marvel at old-growth forest on the Connell Lake Trail, ending at a pristine lake abundant with trout.

Don't Just Learn it: Experience it
You can read that "Haida women would preserve huckleberries by cooking, mashing and drying them in cakes on skunk-cabbage leaves laid out on racks in the sun or set over a fire." But put a juicy huckleberry in your mouth, take a picture of a skunk-cabbage leaf (they grow as big as the back window of an SUV!), and you experience your learning. Your driver is an avid naturalist who enjoys teaching you about the flora and fauna as you roam the forest together. The green, saturated rainforest is a classroom of infinite possibilities for hands-on learning.

Snack Break, Alaskan Style
Your driver pulls the backpack from the rear of the limousine. "Everything's inside," he says, pulling it on. Your guide and your family head into the forest. A mile in, you find the perfect spot: a sunny clearing next to an eddy by the river. The open meadow is a circle of sun surrounded by verdant rainforest. He opens the pack to reveal smoked salmon, crackers, homemade cappuccino brownies, and a thermos of coffee and sets up a spread atop a rock outcropping. Grabbing some tasty salmon and crackers, you sink back on a fallen log, lounge and eat, watching your son throw rocks in the water while your daughter takes endless digital photos of the idyllic hideaway. What could be better?
