What is an SUV limousine?

You'll be transported in our Ford Excursion Stretch limousine, which was custom-designed for this tour. Take note: this is not a 'disco machine.' We've created an upscale, luxury Alaskan vehicle that is at home on the streets of our wilderness town. The Ford Excursion has an iPod port, flat-screen TV, and an excellent stereo system. You can use the privacy window, or utilize the convenient two-way communication system so you can speak with your guide.

How long is the tour?

You will enjoy your private limo tour for four hours. Additional time can be provided subject to scheduling availability.

All the choices sound interesting. I don't know which I would choose.

You don't have to choose! In fact, our preferred itinerary, the "guide's choice," so to speak, grants you the best of each category. We make the most of the four-hour block to cover a bit of everything: maritime culture, native art, local history, scenery and wildlife. Ultimately though, what we do is up to you! We will happily adapt our schedule to fit your interests and needs, whether it's extra time on the rainforest trails or a first class shopping experience.

Can you accommodate a special request? – I'd like to create a lifelong memory

Absolutely! You're reserving a private, custom day, and that means we are there make it happen. We can arrange for an amazing array of personal details, from the bottle of wine waiting in the limousine, down to a private stop in a normally crowded attraction. If you have a desire, share it with us and we will work to make it happen. When it comes to celebrations and events, we know that attention to small details makes it a perfect day.

What kind of gear is provided for the wonderfully wet weather?

The limo is outfitted to handle a slight sprinkle or some hearty Southeast weather. Umbrellas and raingear (jackets and bibs, if the weather warrants) are always on hand in the SUV. Binoculars are available for wildlife viewing. Boots can be made available on request if beach combing or hiking are part of an itinerary. Wear layered clothing to keep you warm: we'll keep you dry.

Can my small child go on the tour?

Definitely. A private tour allows you to determine the pace. Extra restroom stops? No problem. Want to linger or take it slow? You got it! We enjoy customizing the trip to reveal many of Ketchikan's child-friendly offerings. A stop at a beach to examine wildlife, a hike to pick berries, a stop at a local park can all be arranged. Please let us know if you need a booster seat or a car seat.

Can we visit a museum, parks or tour sites?

The limousine is your luxury ride that will take you anywhere you'd like to go. There are diverse destinations that Ketchikan visitors enjoy: share your interests with your guide, and he will offer recommendations and ideas. Some museums and sites require an additional charge to visit, while others are included in the limousine tour. Please ask your guide if you have any questions: we want your visit to Ketchikan to fulfill all your wishes.

Will I see wildlife?

Of course! Large numbers of eagles congregate in the Ketchikan area. Eagle encounters are an integral part of our day, and a highlight for locals and visitors alike. Your local guide is an expert at scouting out the telltale puff of a whale spout. Bear sightings are possible from July onward, especially if we choose to visit a salmon stream during spawning season. Let your guide know if you are interested in a specific animal.

Are food and drinks are available?

We pack a sumptuous picnic basket of goodies for you to enjoy. Additionally, a variety of sodas and bottled water are chilled and waiting. Our gourmet coffee and hot water for tea or cocoa are always ready to warm your insides after a day in cooler weather. Alcohol can be purchased by adults from one of Ketchikan's many stores, or can be waiting for you by the request of your shore excursion manager.

Will I be able to shop?

Downtown Ketchikan is a shopper's paradise. Stores range from souvenir and curio shops to art galleries and beyond. Your guide is pleased to direct you to the best establishments, and to give you the history of the downtown area. The day is yours: you have time to do what you like to do! If you need assistance, we can arrange for a personal shopper who will be more than pleased to fulfill your shopping needs.

I'd like to propose to my girlfriend while on the tour. Can you provide me with a perfect sunny day, a backdrop of a breaching whale, and an eagle circling overhead right when I take out the ring?

Well… you might have to ask a higher power about that! However, fantastic combinations of Alaskan magic are not as uncommon as you think. And if you have a special celebration or event that you would like to arrange while on our tour – no problem at all! We can find your favorite wine or champagne to have aboard, take you to a romantic beach, or find a quiet spot for a picnic. Private touring is about special requests, and we would love to add the perfect touch to your once-in-a-lifetime moment.
